ME, IN A NUTSHELL. LIGHTLY SALTED.
Hi there. My name’s Jon Bobbe, and I live in Naperville with my wife and loveable, loyal yellow lab, Kona. I’ve been playing guitar for over twenty-seven years. During this time I’ve had the fortune of learning classical style guitar, being in numerous professional bands (ranging from punk to jazz to classic rock to blues), I’ve run sound for various performances and have enjoyed lots of studio time. Music may be my life, but teaching is my passion.
I will be the first to tell you that I am not the supreme expert in all things guitar. What I will promise you is that I am as approachable and unassuming as they come. That means no yelling if you miss a note, no crazy ego and no intimidation factor whatsoever. Just someone helping you achieve your goals at every lesson.
For me, when it comes to teaching, I love those "light bulb moments" where you almost audibly hear the click of someone understanding something they didn’t before. Because of that, I like to teach at your level, and won’t push through your lesson and run out the door when the time is up. Oh, and I want you to have fun and enjoy your lessons — isn’t that what music is all about?
Put simply, whether you’re 5 or 95, if you have the physical ability to pick up a guitar and pluck the strings, you can be taught. And I want to teach you.
Give me a call or send me an email. Let’s pick up music together.
